Academics in Canterbury are seeking a dedicated and inspirational Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a vibrant and nurturing primary school. This is a fantastic opportunity to support teaching and learning across various primary year groups, working closely with teachers to enhance pupil progress and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
* To support the planning and delivery of engaging lessons, primarily for Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils, under the direction of the class teacher.
* Lead small group interventions and whole-class activities, ensuring all pupils are engaged and making progress.
* Cover classes for short-term absences of the class teacher, delivering pre-planned lessons.
* Assist with the preparation of resources and the creation of a stimulating learning environment.
* Work closely with colleagues and supporting staff across the school to plan work and assessments.
* Engage with parents / guardians / carers through meetings, reports and communications to support pupil learning and development.
* Uphold the school's values not just in the classroom, but throughout the school.
What we are looking for:
* Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) status or equivalent qualification/experience - essential
* Proven experience working as a teaching assistant, ideally with experience covering classes
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate pupils
* Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding practices and a commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of children
* Right to work in the UK
