Job summary

Envision Education is recruiting experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEND in primary settings across Amersham. The role involves leading small-group activities, one-to-one support, and assisting with lesson delivery, with a focus on children with ASD, ADHD and communication needs.

We seek proactive, patient HLTA candidates with Level 3 (or HLTA Level 4) qualifications who can commute to Amersham and stay Monday to Friday. DBS checked preferred.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification or equivalent required.
• HLTA status or Level 4 HLTA advantageous.
• Experience in specialist SEND settings preferred.
• Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD and communication needs.
• Confident leading small groups and delivering activities.

The Role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other school staff to support pupils' learning, development and wellbeing.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing one-to-one support for pupils with SEND.

• Supporting classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Encouraging pupils to participate in classroom activities and reach their full potential.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff and other professionals.

What We're Looking For

• A Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• HLTA status or a Level 4 HLTA qualification would be advantageous.
• Strong previous experience working within a school or specialist SEND setting.
• Extensive experience supporting children with SEND and additional needs.
• Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, communication difficulties and behavioural needs.
• Confidence leading small groups and supporting learning activities.
• Experience implementing positive behaviour management strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, resilient and proactive approach.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a wider school team.
• A reliable and professional attitude.
• Availability to work Monday to Friday.
• Ability to commute to Amersham and the surrounding areas.

Previous experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, Senior Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant would be particularly relevant.
