As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, you will support and challenge students to achieve excellence, working as part of our team with high standards and a positive attitude.
Core Purpose
The HLTA will work with our SEND Team to support students, deliver intervention programmes, and assist students returning to mainstream lessons after absences. Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, EBSA (emotional-based school avoidance) is essential. The Restart room caters to vulnerable students with attendance barriers. The HLTA will manage this provision, collaborate with the SENDCO and Attendance Manager, facilitate online learning for KS3 and KS4, and manage reduced timetables to prepare students for full inclusion at Alsop High School.
The ideal candidate will be dedicated to improving outcomes for vulnerable students, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Resilience and determination are crucial due to the complex needs of the students.
