Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Location: Waterloo Lodge School, Chorley, Lancashire, PR6 7AX

Salary: GBP23,500.00 per annum (not pro rata)

Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our close-knit team at Waterloo Lodge School located in Chorley.

About the role

As a HLTA, you will deliver Literacy Interventions and academic support to pupils according to their educational needs, in a way that maximizes pupils' achievement and ability to develop.

KEY AREAS & RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Create individualized literacy intervention plans for pupils based on their GL assessment outcomes
  2. Lead and model positive behaviour management with initiative-taking and purposeful approaches
  3. Support pupils in completing baseline assessments throughout the year
  4. Support the school's induction process by completing baseline assessments with new pupils
  5. Prepare and deliver literacy intervention plans and lessons
  6. Complete an overview of literacy interventions for each week
  7. Ensure a high standard of recording and reporting across the school
  8. Provide cover for Teachers if absent or as requested by SLT
  9. Provide literacy support within a classroom setting alongside the teacher and class LSA
  10. Complete administrative duties such as pupil overviews, end of term and annual reports, literacy intervention plans, etc.
  11. Work collaboratively with teaching staff to evaluate and adjust lessons to meet pupils' literacy needs
  12. Prepare high-quality, adapted, and differentiated resources to support literacy interventions
  13. Assess pupils' progress within literacy interventions, including setting targets
Essential Qualifications
  • Maths and English GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent
  • Experience in an educational setting
  • HTLA 2 years or more experience
