Higher Level Teaching Assistant | Primary School | Immediate Start

Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for a new opportunity in a vibrant primary school?

This Higher Level Teaching Assistant role will require someone to join our secondary school in Tower Hamlets. As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting students and teachers, leading small group sessions, and delivering pre-planned lessons.

About the Role:

  • Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
  • Duration: Start ASAP
  • Hours: Full-time, 8:30am - 3:30pm
  • Location: E2, East London

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in the planning and delivery of lessons.
  • Cover classeswhen teachers are absent, maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Lead small group interventions to boost student attainment.
  • Support students with additional learning needs, including those with SEN.
  • Help assess pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Assist in managing the classroom and ensuring a positive, inclusive atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with the wider school team, including teachers and the SENCO.

About You:

  • Experience as an HLTA or a similar role within a primary school setting.
  • Confidence in delivering lessons and working with pupils across different year groups.
  • Knowledge of SENand experience supporting children with additional needs is desirable.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A flexible, proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • A passion for helping children achieve their best and promoting a positive learning environment.
