About the Role / Role Overview

The successful HLTA will work closely with teaching staff to plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality learning across the curriculum. You will take a proactive role in the classroom, covering lessons when required and leading interventions that help bridge learning gaps for identified pupils.

Your Role Will Include:

• Deliver pre-planned lessons and structured interventions in the absence of a teacher.
• Promote an inclusive environment where all pupils feel supported and challenged.
• Provide targeted support to pupils with additional needs, including those with EHCPs.
• Assist in assessing pupil progress and maintaining detailed records.
• Work collaboratively with the SENCO, teachers, and external professionals.
• Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare at all times.

Job Requirements:

• HLTA qualification or equivalent recognised Level 4 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Demonstrable experience supporting teaching and learning in a primary or secondary setting.
• Ability to lead whole-class sessions and manage classroom behaviour effectively.
• In-depth knowledge of the national curriculum and age-appropriate teaching strategies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a team-oriented approach.
• A deep understanding of safeguarding procedures and inclusive practice.
• Have anupdated CV(covering thelast ten years barring any unexplained gaps) andan enhanced DBSregistered to theUpdate Service(or be willing to apply for one).
