Job description
Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to provide support to pupils, individually or in groups, to enable them to access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement. Working alongside class teachers, they will help to raise the learning and attainment of pupils, prompting pupils' independence, self-esteem and social inclusion. The successful candidate will plan relevant lessons for delivery in the provision, employing a range of adaptive teaching strategies to ensure that all pupils within the provision make progress. They will closely monitor the social, emotional and academic progress of pupils who access the provision, and will deliver small group intervention where required including literacy and numeracy. Applicants who have yet not completed the HLTA qualification will be considered, however they will be expected to complete the accredited course via our provider.

New Horizons Children's Academy is a "Good" school (Ofsted May 2022) with a three-form entry that teaches over 600 children from the local community.   • Closely monitor social, emotional and academic progress of pupils accessing the provision.
  • Deliver small group interventions as required, including targeted literacy and numeracy support.
  • Note: Applicants who have not yet completed the HLTA qualification will be considered but must complete the accredited course via the provider.
