Job summary

Pembrokeshire County Council is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant for Pembrokeshire Learning Centre. The role involves leading small group sessions, planning and delivering lessons, and supporting safeguarding and IDP processes throughout a 30-hour week during term time.

You will work under the Heads and Classroom Teachers to raise standards and nurture student potential. Experience with ALN is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with ALN would be beneficial.
• Must have understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
• Experience managing behaviours that challenge would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver sessions to small groups of students
• Work under the direction of the Lead Teacher and Classroom Teacher
• Manage classroom resources
• Manage heightened behaviours and keep children safe
• Assist in the preparation of materials and displays
• Contribute to the delivery of individual development plans (IDPs)
