Job description

Post Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

(Part time: term time: Monday – Wednesday: 3 days)

Salary: Band 5 £27,711 per annum pro rata, actual £14,291.10

Required from: 1 September 2025 for one year to cover a maternity leave




The Governors of this high achieving and well-regarded Infant School are looking to appoint a part time Higher Level Teaching Assistant with experience of the Key Stage 1 and Early Years Curriculum. The post is for one year but may be ended earlier depending upon staffing levels/ performance.



The successful candidate will:



  • Be qualified to HLTA level

  • Be fully committed to this school and its drive to raise standards further.

  • Be an effective and inspirational HLTA showing creativity and flair in providing interactive learning activities for young children.

  • Have high aspirations for all pupils.

  • Have the ability to maintain high standards of behaviour.

  • Show a genuine desire to work as an effective team member.




(The school converted to an Academy on the 1st February 2013 and so the successful candidate would be employed by the Academy).
