Job summary

Five Rivers Child Care in Bath is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support learners across our Bristol and Bath areas. You will work with an experienced team in a culture where children are respected, listened to, and involved in decisions.

You will assist in classrooms and the community for children who cannot attend school, following a trauma-informed approach and supporting personal development through dedicated professional training and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in specialist education provision preferred.
• Good written and IT skills.
• Ability to communicate with children, colleagues and external customers.
• Valid driving licence with access to a vehicle.
• Have the Right to Work in the UK.

Job description

We are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA) to join our school without walls covering the Bristol and Bath areas. You will work with an experienced team in a culture where children are respected, listened to, and involved in as many decisions as possible.

As an HLTA, your day will be varied and interesting. You will support our teachers by assisting in the classrooms and the community for children who cannot attend school; you will follow a flexible structure and support our children and young people to unlock their passion for learning. You will be based in our Ofsted registered school but will also support 1 ACE provision locally.

1 ACE (Another Chance Education) is our alternative education provision, which works with children and young people who struggle in their formal or specialised education settings; we offer education on an outreach basis or within one of our Ofsted registered a school.

You will work within a Trauma-informed practice model where we can support and follow a therapeutic practice.

Our leadership team will invest in your progression as a professional in the Education sector. We source and deliver up-to-date training opportunities and prioritise and discuss your personal development goals to ensure you get the most out of your career.

Our young people may have had many adults come in and out of their lives, often adding to their trauma. Therefore, we seek dedicated people who want to continue their careers with a therapeutically based organisation and leading alternative education provision.

Our full-time hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30 am - 4:30 pm.
