Job summary

Filton Hill Primary School is seeking a passionate and reliable Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team on a temporary maternity cover until 21st May 2027. The role is 13 hours per week over two days, with potential to cover more hours, and may be based across KS2.

The successful HLTA will lead learning, work alongside staff to enhance teaching and learning, and develop expertise across the primary phase. Experience in a primary setting and meeting HLTA standards are essential.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
  • NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or an equivalent qualification and experience.
  • Meet national standards for HLTA’s based on experience, training and qualification.
  • Experience of supporting teaching and learning within a primary school setting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead learning and deliver learning to whole classes.
  • Support high-quality teaching and classroom practice.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to develop teaching and learning across the primary phase.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a supportive team.

**Filton Hill Primary School****Higher Level Teaching Assistant****Part Time, Temporary****Grade 8: £33,673 - £36,581 FTE (£10,176 - £11,055 pro -rata) per annum****2 days a week – KS2****The Role**Filton Hill Primary School is seeking to appoint a passionate and reliable **Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)** to join our dedicated team on a temporary basis. This post is to provide cover for maternity leave until 21st May 2027 or earlier should the post holder return before this date.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HLTA, an ECT starting out on their teaching journey or a fully qualified teacher seeking a flexible role within a supportive and ambitious school community.
