Brookhaven School in Bury is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our committed team. The HLTA will lead interventions in literacy, numeracy, and social communication, provide high-quality cover, and support with student plans and reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Leading interventions that make a real impact in literacy, numeracy, social communication, and sensory needs
  • Teaching lessons and providing high-quality cover when required
  • Coordinating staff cover, timetables, and supporting smooth daily operations
  • Overseeing and maintaining student plans (profiles, behaviour, medical and care) in partnership with families and professionals
  • Providing pastoral and behaviour support through mentoring, restorative practice, and targeted programmes
  • Planning, delivering, and coordinating bespoke, individualised learning programmes for students who are struggling to access lessons
  • Supporting the organisation and scheduling of reviews and meetings with staff, students, parents, and external professionals
