Job summary

Connex Education Partnership in Stockton is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work full time across nursery to year 6, supporting pupils and assisting teachers in a dynamic primary environment.

The ideal candidate will hold HLTA level 3 qualification, have experience with primary pupils and be confident working with small groups. DBS on update service preferred; role includes ongoing development and commitment to safeguarding.

Qualifications

• HLTA level 3 qualification is required.
• Experience supporting pupils in a primary environment.
• Ability to work with small groups and support learning activities.
• Good knowledge of EYFS curriculum and SEND basics.
• DBS check on update service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers and support pupils across year groups from nursery to year 6.
• Support small groups and individual learners to promote inclusion.
• Contribute to planning, differentiation and classroom management.

Connex Education are working with a large number of mainstream primary schools based in the Stockton area who are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team and work full time from nursery to year 6.

About the school

This primary school has a creative and enthusiastic community and as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant there, you will be supported by a welcoming team of teachers, teaching assistants and support staff and you will be responsible for assisting the teachers and supporting the pupils

Assignment Details

This role is Monday – Friday so the right candidate MUST be able to work full time. This role is ongoing with an immediate start. It is essential to be a minimum level 3 teaching assistant to be considered for this role.

Person Specification

• MUST be qualified to HLTA standard.
• Have experience of supporting pupils in a primary environment, in a nursery or in a healthcare setting
• Be confident working with small groups
• Good Knowledge of Additional Needs and EYFS Curriculum
• Have a current DBS on the update service or willing to apply for a new one with Connex
