Job Description:

Hours: Full time, permanent, 40 hours per week, Term time only

Are you passionate about being a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or aspiring to become one? We are looking to appoint at our Outdoor Learning Centre, New Forest School. The successful candidate should have experience working with SEN children, demonstrate sound knowledge, skills, and understanding of the TA role, and support the learning and personal development of our children.

The HLTA role aligns with TA standards and involves working closely with subject leads to deliver bespoke, project-based learning for key pupils within our provision.

This role offers opportunities for professional development and pay progression for those wishing to advance their careers in teaching.

Core Requirements

The Higher Level Teaching Assistant will demonstrate:

  • Ability to build relationships with young people to support them academically and emotionally.
  • Professional appearance, punctuality, and attendance.
  • Commitment to safeguarding children and supporting the school’s safeguarding policies.
  • Ability to support students with behaviour plans and strategies.
  • Proactiveness regarding health and safety.
  • Effective communication with leadership, staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Maintaining accurate student records promptly.
  • Use of initiative and creativity in problem-solving.

A driving license is preferred.
