We’re looking for a passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a progressive and inclusive primary school in Portsmouth—a school that values high expectations, strong relationships, and the power of education to transform lives.
Location: Primary school in Portsmouth
Hours: Full time or part time (typically 8:30am – 3:30pm)
Pay Rate: £90–£135 per day, depending on experience and responsibilities
About the Role
As an HLTA, you’ll play a key role in supporting learning across the school. You’ll deliver whole-class lessons when needed, lead targeted small group interventions, and work closely with teachers to ensure pupils—particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN)—are well supported and making progress.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dedicated team that nurtures confident, capable, and compassionate learners.
Deliver pre-planned lessons to whole classes in the teacher’s absence
Provide small group and 1:1 support, especially for pupils with SEN
Collaborate with teaching staff to support planning, learning, and assessment

Monitor and contribute to pupil progress tracking
