About the Role

As an HLTA, you will play a key part in the educational landscape of the school. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading learning sessions, including covering teacher absences and PPA time across different year groups.
  • Designing and delivering targeted interventions for individuals and small groups, especially in core subjects like literacy and numeracy.
  • Tracking pupil progress and providing detailed feedback to class teachers.
  • Preparing classroom resources and adapting learning materials to meet diverse needs.
  • Upholding positive behaviour principles and fostering a respectful and productive classroom atmosphere.
  • Collaborating closely with teaching staff and other professionals to enhance pupil outcomes.
What We\'re Looking For
  • A Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification (this is mandatory).
  • Proven experience as an HLTA or a senior teaching assistant in a primary school setting.
  • The ability to manage classroom dynamics confidently and lead learning independently.
  • A strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching methods.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A valid enhanced DBS check or a willingness to apply for one.
