Job summary

A leading educational institution in London is seeking a qualified teaching assistant to support classes and provide targeted interventions. The ideal candidate will have HLTA status and proven experience in UK schools. Responsibilities include delivering lessons, assisting with lesson planning, and supporting students with additional needs. Qualifications

  • Proven experience working as a TA, LSA, or HLTA in a UK school setting.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons to whole classes when required.
  • Support teaching and learning across key stages through targeted interventions.
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to children with SEND or EAL.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons to whole classes when required (PPA or short-term cover)

  • Support teaching and learning across key stages through targeted interventions

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of differentiated activities for pupils with varying needs

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to children with SEND, EAL, or additional barriers to learning

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams

  • Support behaviour management strategies and promote a positive classroom culture

  • Help assess pupil progress and contribute to learning plans and reports



Candidate Requirements

  • HLTA status (or equivalent qualification) is strongly preferred

  • Proven experience working as a TA, LSA, or HLTA in a UK school setting

  • Confidence leading whole-class learning when required

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate pupils

  • A proactive, flexible, and resilient approach to supporting learners

  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
