Location: St Thomas More Catholic School, Croftdale Road, Blaydon, Tyne & Wear, NE21 4BQ

Grade: Grade F, SCP 14-19 (£28,624 - £31,067 per annum, pro rata)

Hours: 14.8 hours, Permanent, Term Time Only + 1 week (39 weeks)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join St Thomas More Catholic School.



We are seeking an individual to:

• To provide support for pupils, teachers and the school to raise standards of achievement for SEND students. To be achieved by utilising advanced levels of knowledge and skills when assisting with planning, assessing and managing interventions, small teaching groups and support in the classroom to become independent learners.


• To support all staff with the necessary reasonable adjustments for SEN children to support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of school life

The successful candidate will have:

• HLTA status or equivalent


• The ability to plan and teach effective small group lessons and learning activities across the relevant curriculum, age, and ability ranges including personalising learning to meet individual needs.


• An excellent, up-to-date working knowledge and understanding of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies.
