Job summary

Long Term Futures is recruiting an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a welcoming primary school in Westminster, starting November 2026. You will cover classes, lead targeted interventions and support across EYFS to KS2, adapting activities for varied attainment and SEN needs.

You will work with teachers and senior leaders to sustain engaging lessons, monitor progress, and provide constructive feedback, with weekly pay and ongoing CPD support.

Qualifications

• HLTA experience or substantial primary school TA experience.
• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience desirable.
• Confident leading whole-class lessons independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide whole-class cover, including PPA and teacher release time.
• Deliver planned lessons and maintain positive classroom routines.
• Lead small-group English and Maths interventions.
• Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 as required.
• Adapt activities for pupils with varying attainment levels and SEN.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to class teachers.
• Encourage independence, engagement and positive behaviour.
• Work closely with teachers and senior leaders to support learning.

You'll support teaching across the primary age range, delivering engaging lessons, leading targeted interventions and providing classroom cover when required.

Ideal Candidate

• Previous HLTA experience or substantial primary school TA experience
• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience is desirable

• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
• Experience delivering literacy and numeracy interventions
• Effective classroom management and communication skills
• Flexible, organised and comfortable working across year groups
