In the role of Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. Working closely with teachers and school leadership, you will take on a diverse range of responsibilities, including delivering lessons, providing targeted support to students, and contributing to the overall development of a positive and inclusive learning environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced teaching assistant or aspiring teacher to take on additional responsibilities and make a significant impact on the educational experience of our students.

Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location: Basildon

Salary Scale: £90-£130

Contract Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:
  1. Curriculum Delivery: As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant you will lead and deliver lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher, ensuring the continued progress and engagement of students.
  2. Support and Differentiation: Provide targeted support to individuals and groups of students, adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
  3. Collaboration: Work closely with teachers and school leaders to contribute to the planning and development of curriculum activities.
  4. Assessment and Reporting: Assist in the assessment of student progress, providing valuable insights and feedback to contribute to ongoing improvement.
  5. Behavioural Support: Implement positive behaviour management strategies, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  6. Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development, staying informed about best practices and educational innovations.
Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Qualified as HLTA or equivalent experience.
  2. Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, with a demonstrated ability to lead lessons and support diverse learning needs.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and parents.
  4. Initiative, adaptability, and a genuine passion for contributing to the educational success of students.
  5. Relevant qualifications or training in education or a related field.
