A leading healthcare provider in Huddersfield is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to undertake high-level technical duties in pharmaceutical care. The role involves supporting education and training for Pharmacy staff, optimizing medication compliance, and working closely with healthcare professionals. The candidate will also act as a mentor and participate in the Medicine Optimisation team, contributing to high-quality patient care.
The post holder undertakes high-level technical duties in the following areas of pharmaceutical care:
The post holder will support in-house and NVQ education and training for pre-registration Pharmacy technicians, Pharmacy support staff, and other relevant staff, under the supervision of the Senior Pharmacy Technician – Education and Training.
They will support the review and development of training documents and SOPs within training and development, suggesting changes that impact other areas.
They will assist with all aspects of training, including induction plans, competency assessments, and revalidation of assessments to monitor standards, as required.
The post holder will be an integral part of the Medicine Optimisation team, working alongside Pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
They will work seamlessly between primary and secondary care, linking with healthcare professionals to optimise medication concordance and compliance.
The post holder will practice as a mentor in all areas of competence.
They will also carry out prescription and related item checks, as per the departmental Accredited Checking Technician program, and undergo annual competency re-assessment in line with regional frameworks.
