Job summary

Pitmaston Primary School in Worcester is seeking a 1:1 Higher Level Needs Assistant to support one pupil with additional needs across upper KS2. The role focuses on delivering targeted learning experiences and working closely with staff, external agencies and the pupil's family.

You will be an experienced teaching and learning assistant with SEND background, capable of personalising resources and monitoring progress on the provision map, while contributing to a positive Thrive-based ethos.

Qualifications

• Experience working with pupils with SEND in a primary school.
• Understanding of Thrive and trauma-informed approaches is a plus.
• Good communication with parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support a child with learning experiences meeting their individual needs.
• Deliver focused provision to extend learning under guidance of staff.
• Assist the child to meet personal targets on the provision map.
• Personalise resources to be accessible for the child.
• Ensure clear learning outcomes and achievable steps.
• Provide access to a range of learning opportunities.
• Support the child to follow class routines and expectations.
• Build a positive relationship to boost self-esteem and emotional understanding.
