Job description

The purpose of this role is to develop a clear pathway of progression, training, and career structure for Advanced Clinical Practitioners in emergency, acute, and urgent care. This role involves a 7-day working pattern, including shift work and after-hours working. The post requires completion of a Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice and an Independent Non-Medical Prescribing qualification. The post holder will undergo a range of core clinical competencies and case presentations within their area of practice.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is required to deliver advanced clinical practice within the field of Surgery within the Trust. The Higher-level ACP will possess extensive clinical knowledge and experience, having completed a master’s in advanced clinical practice, Non-Medical Prescribing qualification, and meeting all role requirements. They will work clinically as part of the medical workforce, act as a role model and clinical supervisor to junior colleagues, and promote clinical effectiveness. They will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, support the operational and strategic development of the service, and promote evidence-based practice, clinical audit, and research alongside the Lead ACP and Consultant Lead of the service. Additionally, the post holder will provide leadership and education, including developing trainee ACPs, junior colleagues, medical students, and foundation year medical staff.
