Job Description:

Are you an experienced professional in construction management or civil engineering with a passion for developing the next generation of industry leaders? We are seeking an Apprentice Trainer for Higher Construction to join our team and play a key role in shaping the future of the construction industry.

This role does not involve classroom teaching, but requires addressing groups of students with a structured approach to providing clear and accurate instructions.

Main Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Assess apprentices in Higher Construction (Level 4 and above), prepare assessment materials, support curriculum development, undertake quality assurance, assess student work, monitor progress, and maintain statutory compliance including safeguarding, equal opportunities, and health and safety.
  2. Coordinate with relevant departments for organization and administration, ensuring compliance across sites.
  3. Visit students in workplaces, set skill development targets, monitor progress, and assess competency.
  4. Assist with recruitment, manage enrolments, and organize induction programs.
  5. Conduct initial employer consultations, complete skills scans, and ensure apprentices are mapped to appropriate learning programs.
  6. Hold regular meetings with students, set and review SMART targets, assist with UCAS references, and support pastoral needs.
  7. Monitor attendance and results, coordinate performance monitoring, and develop action plans as needed.
  8. Promote English and Maths learning, monitor attendance, and support improvement.
  9. Attend various meetings and events, coordinate review and progress meetings.
  10. Collaborate on course development, participate in CPD, and mentor staff.
  11. Assist with departmental administration, including record-keeping, reporting, and quality assurance activities.
