Job summary

AM Global is seeking an experienced High Voltage Technician to join our team in Stockton-on-Tees. The role offers a permanent, full-time contract with a 40-hour week and a starting ASAP date.

You will carry out HV and LV installation, maintenance and testing, diagnose faults, read electrical drawings, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while delivering quality service to clients.

• Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or related discipline.

• Work safely on electrical equipment and power distribution systems.
• Record and document test results and maintain accurate service records.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
• Work closely with project teams to support successful delivery of work.
• Communicate professionally with clients regarding technical findings and service outcomes.
• Follow all site safety procedures, permits to work and company/regulatory requirements.
• Use appropriate electrical tools and test equipment.
• Support continuous improvement in system reliability and performance.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (40 hours per week)

About the Role

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working with high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems.
• Knowledge of power generation and electrical power systems.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with electrical maintenance and repairs.
• Preventative maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Understanding of electrical safety standards and permit-to-work systems.
• A relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Previous experience within industrial, utility or power generation environments would be advantageous.
