Job summary

Proactive Global in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a High Voltage Technician to join a specialist engineering and manufacturing team responsible for the build, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of high-voltage electrical systems.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced electrical professional to work within a regulated production environment, supporting product development, fault investigation, and continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience working with high-voltage electrical systems.
• Experience with installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and fault finding.
• Strong understanding of HV safety procedures, switching, and lockout/tagout (LOTO).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience within a manufacturing, production, engineering, utilities, rail, power generation, or industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Build, install, test, commission, and maintain high-voltage equipment and systems.
• Carry out fault finding, diagnostics, and troubleshooting using specialist test equipment.
• Support operational testing and performance monitoring activities.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Complete maintenance records, test reports, and technical documentation accurately.
