As the successful candidate, you will lead a team of Electrical Engineers/Senior Authorised Persons, providing operation, maintenance, and fault-finding activities on high voltage and primary low voltage systems. This includes the overall responsibility to ensure that the installation of significant electrical assets is controlled by adequate arrangements for construction, commissioning, and handover, in accordance with the TWUL asset standards.

At Thames Water, we operate a significant number of high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical power networks. These assets are central to water production and waste treatment for our 16 million customers.

To maintain the safe and reliable operation of these electrical assets, a high level of knowledge and skills in electrical technology, safety procedures, and providing expert support to core operations is required. The teams involved in frontline operation and maintenance need continuous technical support for maintenance, fault investigation, solutions implementation, asset upgrades, and incident investigation.

This role requires frequent engagement with stakeholders from Operations, Engineering, Capital Delivery, and Health, Safety, and Wellbeing functions.

What you’ll be doing as the High Voltage Maintenance Delivery Manager
  1. Managing planned and defective maintenance activities.
  2. Updating records and producing reports for maintenance activities.
  3. Engaging with Framework contractors to maintain safety and efficiency standards.
  4. Communicating with stakeholders from various operational and safety functions to align team activities with business needs.
  5. Supporting asset planning and capital delivery for high voltage or complex low voltage upgrades.
  6. Delivering capital programmes managed by your team.
  7. Investigating faults and leading serious electrical failure or unsafe event investigations.
  8. Maintaining out-of-hours support coverage.
  9. Providing technical leadership for plant issues and reliability improvements, including fault response.
  10. Leading asset surveys and assessments, advising on operation and maintenance, and supporting risk management.
  11. Coaching and mentoring team members, especially in preparation for Authorised Person appointments, and developing their skills.
  12. Monitoring contractor performance and conducting safety audits.
  13. Providing input into framework reviews and bid processes, and reviewing contractor safety procedures.
  14. Carrying out safety audits and delivering safety briefings to promote team engagement with safety systems.
Base Location

Oxford STW, Maple Lodge STW, Basingstoke STW, or Hampton WTW.

Working Hours

36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with additional out-of-hours support rota compensated separately.
