About your job

The High Speed Steel Sales Manager (HSS SM) will manage our business in high speed steel round tools, including sales, channels, end users, and the sales team. The team comprises selling agents and employees, whom the HSS SM manages. The role requires collaboration with support functions like product management, inside sales, operations, logistics, production, pricing, marketing, and communication. The main goal is to drive sales growth and meet KPIs.

The HSS SM must adhere to safety and quality policies and participate as a member of the Dormer Pramet Americas Management Team (DP AMT).

Key Performance Areas

  • Represent Dormer Pramet’s high-speed sales externally, building relationships with stakeholders, channels, and associations.
  • Support global product management and branding efforts.
  • Manage profitability, portfolio, working capital, and product range development.
  • Engage with national distribution channels in US, Canada, and Mexico to support sales and marketing strategies.
  • Manage major channels including MSC, Fastenal, McMaster Carr, and others.
  • Develop and grow high-speed business in new channels, end users, and buying groups.
  • Defend market share and maintain profitability through sales strategies.

Your Profile

  • Strong business skills: negotiation, planning, follow-up, change, and people management.
  • Extensive knowledge of high-speed steel sales cycles, buyer behaviors, and competitor landscape.
  • Experience in strategy development and long-term planning.
  • Technical understanding of high-speed steel cutting tools and applications.
  • Familiarity with inside sales processes and systems like SOPIC and SAP.
  • Market pricing knowledge and alignment with global strategies.
  • Proven ability to implement strategic plans.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Power BI, CRM, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Highly motivated, organized, disciplined, and able to multitask.
  • Minimum five years in senior sales management and ten years in cutting tools experience.
  • Hands-on experience with high-speed steel round tools and technical knowledge.
  • Experience in sales environment, product training, and knowledge of Sandvik processes.
  • Understanding of ISO standards (9001, 14001).
  • Ability to work with metric and imperial units.
