Job description

Building-based substitute position - Falmouth High School
Falmouth High School is seeking a highly motivated individual to support our high school learners as a full-time, grades 9-12 building substitute. The role of a building sub changes daily and is determined by our front office staff who fill the teacher/ed tech absences. While a general skill set that can work in our classrooms is expected, a specific expertise in Math or Science is preferred.
The ideal candidate:
Demonstrates enthusiasm working with students and is flexible.
Would be willing to support classrooms, small groups, individual students, and possibly fill in as a long term substitute, if needed.
Would be able to demonstrate strong collaboration and communication skills.
Falmouth High School is located on a 100-acre district K-12 campus in Falmouth Maine, a coastal community bordering the city of Portland. Our campus features extensive fields, trails, gardens and hoop houses, and rich opportunities for collaboration between schools. Qualifications:
Prior experience working with high school-aged children is preferred. Candidates must have or be eligible for the Maine Education Technician Level III authorization through the Maine Department of Education, as well as an approved district run background check.
Additional:
Pay will be based on relevant experience and DOE certification. Pay rate is $23.60 - $29.66 for balance of the current school year, with a scale increase of 4% starting in September 2025.
