Job summary

Daily Mail is seeking a skilled JavaScript/TypeScript Engineer to join our Ads and Commercial Development team. In this role you will build high-performance, low-latency infrastructure powering our commercial platforms and work directly with browser APIs, using vanilla JavaScript rather than heavy UI frameworks.

The position emphasizes browser internals, ad-tech concepts, and modern web standards, with a hybrid work model: two days per week in the DMGT HQ in High Street Kensington, London.

Qualifications

• Expert-level mastery of TypeScript and vanilla JavaScript (ES6+)
• Strong proficiency in js for backend services and build tooling
• Low-Level DOM Manipulation with direct DOM/Browser APIs
• DevOps & Infrastructure with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
• Software Engineering fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design and clean code

Responsibilities

• Build and optimize high-performance, low-latency infrastructure for commercial platforms
• Work with browser APIs using vanilla JavaScript rather than heavy frameworks
• Interface with containerised infrastructure to serve products at scale
• Profile, debug, and optimize code for constrained environments
• Collaborate on code reviews and share technical insights
