Position Overview

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a High-Performance Experimental Test Pilot on the Air Dominance\(Phantom Works\), Air Proprietary 1 (AP1) Program in Berkeley, MO (St. Louis, MO area). The role involves working with a high-performing, cross-functional team to develop next-generation capabilities for Boeing's defense programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering of advanced aircraft
  • Plan and conduct engineering and experimental test flights
  • Serve as Pilot-In-Command for advanced aircraft
  • Evaluate aircraft configuration, performance, and handling qualities
  • Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and certification teams
  • Prepare flight test plans, procedures, and reports
  • Assess flight data and recommend design or operational changes
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies
  • Collaborate with government and customer representatives

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field
  • FAA Commercial Certificate or ATP with endorsements, or military equivalent
  • Current FAA Class II medical certificate
  • 1,000+ flight hours as Pilot-in-Command of turbine jet aircraft
  • Test Pilot School graduate
  • Experience with 5th or 6th Generation Fighter aircraft development

Preferred:

  • 10+ years of related experience or higher education in engineering
  • Experience with F-22A or similar aircraft

Additional Information

  • Position requires FAA Second Class Medical and appropriate FAA Airmen certificate
  • Some travel up to 20% may be required
  • Shift: Primarily 1st shift, with some weekends and off-shift work
  • Relocation assistance available based on eligibility
  • Security clearance: U.S. Top Secret required
