Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a Complex Needs Learning Support Assistant for a secondary SEN school in Lewisham. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, providing classroom and 1-1 support to students with SEMH, ASD and other needs.

You will work with colleagues to support learners in and out of lessons, helping to create a positive, inclusive learning environment. Successful applicants are resilient, patient and adaptable, and ready to make a real difference.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with SEMH, ASD, and other complex needs.
• Ability to remain resilient, patient and adaptable in challenging situations.
• Commitment to supporting learning in a secondary SEN environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide general classroom support and 1-1 support for students.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support learners inside and outside of lessons.
• Help manage challenging behaviour in a calm and constructive manner.

The role

The role involves general classroom support as well as 1-1 support while working closely with colleagues in providing support outside of the classroom. Due to the needs of the students (SEMH, ASD, Complex Needs, SLD, MLD) it is essential that you have worked with special needs in some capacity.

Working in these schools is incredibly rewarding. You have a chance to make a real difference in these children's lives but it's not always easy! You must be resilient, patient, adaptable, enthusiastic and confident in managing challenging behaviour.
