    South Tyneside Talking Therapies is an award-winning service and one of the highest performing services at both regional and national level.

    The post holder will have an exciting opportunity to support our Learning Disability pathway which offers screenings and treatment to clients who have a Learning Disability and are experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. Treatment sessions will be offered via 1:1 as well as group interventions. The post holder will also have the opportunity to develop pathways into the service through liaison with key referrers, attend service promotional events and develop their skills through innovative service developments. Having experience in using reasonable adjustments and working with clients that require individualised treatment plans will be key for this role.

    Main duties of the job

    The post holder will provide screenings and high intensity interventions as part of the Talking Therapies team which includes various therapeutic models including CBT, IPT, CAT, EMDR, and Counselling.

    The post holder will be expected to have a commitment to a holistic model of mental health and working with partners to address client need through 1:1 work and group work utilising reasonable adjustments where required.

    There is recognition that staff can realise their potential through effective clinical and management supervision, managerial support, and through access to internal and external training.

    Staff development and their wellbeing are accepted as priorities, and we have a long-established Wellbeing Strategy Group which develops wellbeing initiatives for the service.
