Job description
Overview

We are looking for CBT Therapists or Clinical / Counselling Psychologists who are BABCP accredited or eligible for accreditation to join the service at this interesting time of change and expansion within Bedford.

East London NHS Foundation Trust also provides Talking Therapies services in Newham, Tower Hamlets and a new Digital Service. The four services work together on joint projects, sharing good practice and opportunities for training. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that is moving into a new phase of development and expansion. Your ideas and creativity would be welcome in contributing to the delivery of an innovative service, which meets the needs of the local diverse community.

Bedfordshire Talking Therapies (BTT) is an integrated Talking Therapies service providing a range of Talking Therapies approved interventions.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) with patients who have a range of complex Anxiety disorders and Depression related problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective.
  • Carry out assessments and offer CBT Groups as well as individual CBT treatment as part of the caseload.
  • Work with people from different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and may work in various community settings, including GP surgeries and community venues.
  • Deliver the majority of clinical work remotely, with a small provision of face to face contacts from clinical bases in Bedford, Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard.
  • Work flexible hours between 8am and 8pm based on service requirements.
  • May provide cover and assistance to other East London Foundation Trust Talking Therapies teams (e.g., supervision via Teams, cross-service trainings).
  • Collaborate constructively and flexibly as part of the Bedfordshire Talking Therapies team and with colleagues in other East London Foundation Trust teams.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • CBT Therapists or Clinical / Counselling Psychologists who are BABCP accredited or eligible for accreditation.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and adapt to different settings; use of interpreters when necessary.
  • Experience delivering CBT for Anxiety and Depression is implied by the role description.
Location and Working Arrangements

Based in Bedfordshire with majority remote work; some face-to-face contact offered from Bedford, Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard. Flexibility to cover other East London Foundation Trust Talking Therapies teams as needed.
