Job summary

Hawthorne-Finch Talent Solutions is recruiting a Non-Contentious Construction Associate for a market-leading Construction & Engineering team in Leeds or Manchester. The role offers hybrid working and exposure to UK and international mandates across energy, renewables, utilities and major infrastructure.

You will draft and negotiate contracts (JCT/NEC/FIDIC), advise on procurement and risk, build client relationships and support the firm’s growth with early responsibility.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 4–6 years’ PQE in non-contentious construction.
• Experience advising on complex construction and engineering projects across energy, renewables, utilities, infrastructure, data centres and development.
• Strong drafting for standard and bespoke contracts (JCT/NEC/FIDIC).
• Exposure to international documentation (helpful, not essential).
• Strong drafting, analytical and client-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading and supporting workstreams on major UK and international construction and infrastructure projects.
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of project documents (JCT/NEC/FIDIC).
• Advising on appointments, warranties, guarantees and long-term service contracts.
• Providing strategic procurement and risk allocation advice to stakeholders.
• Taking ownership of matters and mentoring junior colleagues.
