Job overview

We are delighted to announce a new 16 bed service based in Doncaster that will welcome patients from Rotherham, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire.

The unit with support patients with complex mental health with a focus on rehabilitation, patients may be in the service for up to 12 months and through a multi-professional approach will receive recovery focussed care.

The post holder will provide an efficient, effective and confidential secretarial and administrative support service including all secretarial and administrative duties to Mental Health Ward Managers and support Clinical staff. The role will include support with the preparation and collection of data and statistics for service reporting.

· Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the Ward Managers and Deputies asappropriate within Inpatient Services.

· Deal with routine correspondence and telephone calls on behalf of the WardManagers.

· Diary management for Ward Managers including proactive preparation of documentsand papers for agreed meetings asdirected.

· Email management for the Ward Managers and Deputies as required and overseeing the generic Ward mailbox and responding accordingly.

· To provide administration support to identified work within the pathway asrequested.

· Assist the Ward Managers and Deputies with the recruitment and selection process.

· Liaise with the Management Secretary in relation to Staff Variations to Contracts, New Starter Forms and Termination Forms

Person specification
Qualifications
  • Educated to NVQ 2 level or equivalent in appropriate subject e.g. Business Admin.
  • Good standard of education (minimum 3 GCSEs Grade A-C, 4-9, including English and Maths or equivalent desirable). ECDL or equivalent IT qualifications.
  • Previous NHS experience or other large public sector organisation would be an advantage.
Experience
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a busy environment, office procedures, and workload management
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience of office procedures, i.e. filing, photocopying, message taking, typing
