High Dependency Unit Band 6 Dietitian

We are delighted to announce a new 16 bed service based in Doncaster that will welcome patients from Rotherham, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire.

The unit with support patients with complex mental health with a focus on rehabilitation, patients may be in the service for up to 12 months and through a multi-professional approach will receive recovery focussed care.

To work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team assessing Dietetic needs and providing clinically effective and efficient interventions on an individual and group basis for people with mental health needs.

Main duties of the job

To provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with complex dietetic needs as an autonomous practitioner for adults with mental health needs.

To manage a defined caseload using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions and record all interventions.

To provide clinical education and training.

To provide dietetic input within the HDU Mental Health Team working as a member of the multi-professional team.

To complete home visits and outreach work to enable safe and timely discharge.

To be responsible for providing information to the Clinical Lead and the HDU Team Manager as needed.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Understanding and knowledge of clinical governance issues within own clinical practice and wider implications for delivery of patient services
  • Portfolio evidence of reflective practice, relevant experience, and CPD
  • Evidence of relevant post-graduate courses
Experience
  • Appropriate demonstrable experience as a dietitian in a broad range of areas including adequate relevant experience of working with people with mental health conditions
  • Extensive experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience of networking within the dietetic and in the wider Health & Social Care community
  • Experience in clinical audit, research, and effectiveness
