Training and development will be provided on the job. The role involves dealing with drug datasets, relaying drug names and medical conditions daily, so confidence and comfort with this work are essential.
This position supports the High Cost Drugs team across the Trust in maintaining high-quality datasets and systems, and delivering initiatives related to high-cost drugs. The work impacts healthcare delivery and involves collaboration across specialties and functions. The role is based at Lincoln County Hospital, with possible travel to other sites within the Trust.
High cost drugs represent a significant NHS expenditure. This role will be key in supporting cost improvement programs and medicine savings in Lincolnshire.
This is a 12-month, fixed-term position.
You will organize reports, paperwork, actions, and communications for key meetings on High Cost Drugs, and provide administrative and data analysis support related to medicine expenditure and savings.
As a member of the team, you will assist in data collection and reporting, undertake surveillance, maintain databases, prepare reports, coordinate meetings, and support investigations into issues related to High Cost Drugs.
While based mainly in the office, you should be able to work independently, under pressure, and prioritize tasks. Training will enable you to organize and deliver educational sessions with support from senior pharmacists. Occasionally, you may be involved in audits and relaying messages on wards/clinics to improve patient care and safety.
This is a challenging and demanding role but also rewarding, with clear deliverables on medicines management and savings within 12 months.
