Reporting to the Product Data Governance Manager, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and researching new product proposals. Your core responsibilities will include analysing these products to determine their optimal place within our product hierarchy, as well as identifying the essential selling data required to enable Screwfix to market them online effectively.

The role is part-time, working 15 hours across two days, ideally Monday and Friday. However, we can discuss specific working patterns at the interview stage. This is a 3-month fixed-term contract initially.

Responsibilities

• Analyse proposed new products to assess if there are any additional customer facing product data requirements. Identify the correct hierarchy location, attributes and rules required to ensure products are showcased effectively online.
• Improve the content hierarchy guaranteeing the smooth and successful launch of product ranges right first time, on time, and in conjunction with key stakeholders.
• Highlight data issues on the Range Control Documents and take responsibility for resolution in conjunction with Trading.
• Working with Trading and E-Commerce to identify data requirements for new subgroups within the product hierarchy.
• Ensure any proposals for new subgroups are consistent with existing data formatting and will enable customer purchasing decisions.
• Work with internal departments to identify and resolve issues that arise from product data and hierarchy.
• Suggest and deliver improvements to our data processes, to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Challenge the creation of new subgroups where the volume does not merit this.
• Pro-actively meets deadlines and workload priorities to ensure new product launches are not compromised.
• Prioritises own workload and escalate potential issues.

Qualifications

• Strong eye for detail and accuracy.
• Able to analyse large volumes of sometimes conflicting data to make a decision.
• Ability to work toward tight deadlines whilst managing unexpected changes ensure all objectives are met.
• Confident and competent in MS Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio) and open to learning in-house systems and applications.
