Job summary

Unico Recruitment London is seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver to join our Watford area client. This customer-facing role involves delivering building materials safely and on time to trade and retail customers across the local area, with emphasis on safe loading, HIAB operations, and professional conduct.

You will hold a full HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record, a valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph card, plus HIAB operator experience.

Qualifications

Full, valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record.
Valid Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
Experience driving HGV Class 2 in delivery/logistics environments.
HIAB operator experience or qualification.

Responsibilities

Operate an HGV Class 2 vehicle with HIAB to complete deliveries safely and on time.
Plan routes considering access, site rules, and delivery windows.
Load, transport and unload building materials using HIAB and other handling gear.
Carry out daily vehicle checks and maintain safety of equipment.
Report defects, incidents and delivery issues promptly through procedures.
Ensure goods are loaded securely and delivered per safe loading practices.
Operate HIAB crane following safety plans and training.
Deliver to construction sites, trade premises and customer locations with site assessment.
Comply with drivers' hours, tachographs, CPC and UK road transport rules.
