Job summary

Unico Recruitment London is seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver for a client in Watford. This customer-facing role involves safe delivery of building materials to trade and retail customers across the local area.

You will be responsible for planning routes, loading/unloading with HIAB, and maintaining vehicle safety and compliance. Flexible start times and occasional Saturdays may be required.

Qualifications

• Full, valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean record.
• CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
• Experience driving HGV Class 2 in delivery/logistics environments.
• HIAB qualification or operator training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate an HGV Class 2 with HIAB to complete deliveries safely.
• Plan and follow delivery routes considering site access and time windows.
• Load, transport and unload materials using HIAB and related equipment.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and keep equipment safe and compliant.
• Report defects, incidents and delivery issues promptly.
• Ensure loads are secured and loaded per safe loading practices.
• Operate HIAB crane following safety guidelines and training.
• Deliver to construction sites, trade premises and homes, assessing site conditions.
• Comply with drivers’ hours, tachograph and UK transport regulations.
