The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Technical Officer based in the council's multi award-winning Home Improvement Agency. The postholder will support Technical Officers in delivering services that assist private sector vulnerable residents with repairs and disabled adaptations to their homes.
You will have experience in surveying residential properties and supervising building works. A minimum of a Higher National Qualification in a building-related subject or equivalent relevant experience is required.
The post holder should be able to work with minimal supervision, prioritise workloads, and communicate effectively with colleagues, partner organisations, and the public. Excellent numeracy, keyboard, and customer service skills are essential.
This is a permanent position, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The role is based at Lancaster Town Hall and other council sites within the district, with hybrid working arrangements depending on service needs.
A full UK driving licence is essential for home visits across the district. The post holder must also sign up to the DVLA external licence validation service.
The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
