Job Role: Support worker/Healthcare Assistant

The Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant will be expected to help and assist the team with daily routines including personal care and feeding.

The Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers must have at least 6 months of experience in care and be compassionate.

Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers help with the day-to-day care of patients, either in homes, hospitals, or in patients' own homes. They are vital members of teams in hospitals, homes, and clinics.

Previous experience and/or qualifications in care are essential to apply.

As a Healthcare Assistant / Support Worker, you'll work under the supervision of nursing staff, alongside other Healthcare Assistants.

Your duties could include:

• Helping patients wash, shower, or dress
• Serving food or helping people eat
• Making and changing beds
• Turning patients confined to bed to prevent pressure sores
• Talking to patients to reduce anxiety
• Helping patients move around if difficult
• Assisting with toileting and collecting bedpans
• Keeping the ward or patients' homes tidy
• Managing supplies and equipment

Your work may involve using mobility aids to lift and move patients. In hospitals, you may escort patients between departments. With experience, you could participate in training new healthcare assistants.
