Job summary

Driver Hire Edinburgh West is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) drivers to work with a variety of clients across West Lothian. These flexible ad hoc roles suit drivers with other commitments, offering exposure to different vehicles, routes and industries.

Typical duties include trunking, general haulage, A-B movements, loading/unloading and daily vehicle checks while ensuring compliance with drivers hours and safety regulations. PAYE basic £15.50 and advanced £17.37 per hour.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence is mandatory.
• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card required.
• Minimum of 1 year Class 1 driving experience.
• Maximum of 6 penalty points (minor offences only).
• No IN, DD, DR or CD endorsements.
• Strong understanding of drivers hours and transport legislation.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, professional and flexible attitude.

Responsibilities

• Trunking, single-drop and multi-drop deliveries to clients.
• General haulage and pallet network work.

• Loading and unloading as required.

Pay Rates

• PAYE Basic: £15.50 per hour (holiday pay accrued)
