Job summary

Job Title: HGV Workshop Supervisor
Location: Berkshire
Hours: 4 on 4 off days
Salary: 27.00 an hour

Job Purpose of the HGV Workshop Supervisor:
To supervise and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the HGV workshop with a focus on PSV maintenance, repair, and compliance. The HGV Workshop Supervisor will ensure all vehicles are maintained in a roadworthy, compliant, and efficient manner, meeting both internal standards and statutory PSV regulations.

Key Responsibilities of the HGV Workshop Supervisor:

• Oversee all workshop activities related to HGVs and PSVs.
• Provide hands-on support with complex diagnostics and mechanical issues.
• Allocate tasks to technicians and monitor productivity, efficiency, and quality of work.
• Monitor MOT and safety inspection schedules to ensure full compliance.
• Plan and prioritise daily workloads to minimise vehicle downtime.
• Supervise servicing, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs to PSV fleet vehicles.
• Ensure appropriate use of equipment and adherence to workshop safety protocols.

Qualifications & Skills and Experience of the HGV Workshop Supervisor:

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Proven supervisory experience in a commercial vehicle or PSV workshop.
• Strong knowledge of PSV servicing, inspections, diagnostics, and repair standards.
• IRTEC certification (preferred) and valid UK driving licence (PCV desirable).
• Familiarity with DVSA compliance systems and maintenance planning.
