Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods Maintenance or equivalent experience required.
  • Proven experience as an HGV Technician or similar role is essential.

Job Overview
We are seeking HGV Technicians to join our team in Thurrock. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy goods vehicles and trailers for Tesco.

Overtime: Paid time and a half

Responsibilities

  • Service, inspection, maintenance and repair of vehicles and trailers
  • Electrical, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic fault diagnosis, repair and installation
  • Overhaul electrical equipment and components
  • Setting and operating of machine tools and equipment
  • Welding and metal working
  • Department of Transport (MOT) testing preparation
  • Parts ordering and stores management
  • Accurately record time and detail of completed jobs
  • Carry out inspection and repair of workshop equipment as directed
  • Other work within normal grade/job skills as required
  • Ad-hoc duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods Maintenance or equivalent or proven experience as an HGV Technician or similar role in vehicle maintenance.
