Qualifications

Job description

Our highly successful client is growing, and they now need an experienced HGV Technician to join their dedicated team. Our client offers a great team environment and has also just built a new workshop. You will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the company's fleet of 50+ HGVs (7.5 and 18 tonne).


Hours: Mon-Fri (phone number removed)pm + Saturdays available 8.30-12 noon.


HGV Mechanic - Main Duties:
  1. Vehicle Inspections to DVSA and FTA standards
  2. Fault finding, repairs & servicing of commercial vehicles and trailers
  3. MOT preparation to DVSA standards
  4. Vehicle servicing to vehicle manufacturing standards
  5. Completion of all relevant paperwork ensuring that all work undertaken is compliant
  6. Use of diagnostic equipment
  7. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines

Skills required for the HGV Technician:
  1. The successful HGV Technician must be fully skilled with industry recognised qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ Level Three) in heavy vehicle service, maintenance and repair
  2. 2 years' experience as an HGV Mechanic (Post Qualification)
  3. High level of communication
  4. Basic knowledge of computers and fleet diagnostics
  5. Good organizational skills and ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
  6. Must have the right to work in the UK
  7. Brake experience (training can be given)
  8. MOT preparation experience
  9. Modern mechanical and electrical diagnostics and fault-finding
  10. Accurate and timely defect reporting
