Job summary

John Lewis & Partners operates a large vehicle workshop where you’ll service and repair our HGV delivery fleet to DVSA and Partnership standards. You’ll work with skilled technicians and have access to the tools needed to perform to a high standard.

Qualifications

  • City and Guilds Level 3 Vehicle technician or equivalent qualifications.
  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
  • Proven background in transport commercial vehicle repairs.
  • Knowledge of commercial vehicle legislation and roadworthiness.

Responsibilities

  • Work on our large HGV lorries to ensure safe, roadworthy repairs.
  • Complete inspections, services and defect sheets per licence requirements.
  • Use current repair techniques and quality spare parts to ensure cost-effective high quality repairs.

Salary

The salary offered for this role is up to £55,000, depending on skills and experience, plus overtime is readily available.

Working Hours

Full time role, 37.5 hours per week:

  • Wednesday - Friday: 06:00 - 16:30 Wed - Fri
  • Saturday: 06:00 - 16:00

What You'll Be Doing
  • You’ll be working on our large HGV lorries. It will be your job to ensure all vehicles are maintained to a safe and roadworthy standard to both DVSA and Partnership’s requirements.
  • Ensuring that relevant sections of all inspections, services and defect sheets are completed in compliance with our ‘O’ Licence obligations and that all spare requests and time books are completed daily.
  • You’ll be aware of best practices and current commercial vehicle repair techniques, to ensure high-quality repairs are carried out in a cost-effective manner and that the use of spare parts and consumables reflect the level of work carried out.

Essential Experience/Qualifications required
  • City and Guilds Level 3 Vehicle technician or equivalent qualifications
  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence
  • A proven background in transport commercial vehicle repairs
  • Knowledge of commercial vehicle legislation and roadworthiness
Desirable Skills
  • IRTEC
  • LGV C+E Driving Licence
