Job summary

John Lewis Partnership is seeking a Transport Administrator to support the Customer Delivery Operations at Stanley Green, Wilmslow. You will assist site management with daily tasks, drive improvements, and act as an ambassador for the John Lewis brand.

The role is part-time (18.75 hours per week) with a 4-week rota; salary range £29,100–£43,700 pro-rated. Evening and night premiums apply; join a UK employee-owned business.

Qualifications

• Excellent PC skills including Google Docs/Sheets/Slides, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Transport Compliance systems for defective vehicles and driver regulations.
• Maths and very good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Good working knowledge of IT Systems.
• Previous Administration experience.

Responsibilities

• Undertake administrative tasks related to Transport and vehicle legal compliance.
• Ensure the operation remains legally compliant with adherence to Domestic and EU Driver’s Hour regulations.
• Maintain relationships with external service providers and internal maintenance units.
• Monitor delivery routes to ensure high levels of customer service.
• Communicate with Partners and raise issues to Transport/Site Management, handing over at shift end.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Customer Delivery Operations are a vital part of our business. Here at the Partnership, our Transport Administrator will take ownership of the department's operational success by assisting site management with daily tasks and project work, supporting continuous improvement initiatives and using your customer experience to be an ambassador of John Lewis and Partners.

In addition to your contractual pay, any time worked between 18:00 - 22:00 will attract an Evening Premium at a rate of £3.25 per hour, and any time worked between 22:00 - 06:00 will attract a Night Premium at a rate of £4.25 per hour. This will also apply to existing Partners who have enrolled onto Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.

Please be aware there is 1 part time opportunity available on this vacancy.

Rota 1 - Working a 4-week rolling rota, 2 days on week 1 and 3 days on week 2 ( mixed days). Weekdays, Monday to Thursday 13:30 - 21:30, Friday 12:30 - 20:30 and 1 Saturday 10:30 - 18:00.

Rota 2 - Working a 4-week rolling rota, 2 days on week 1 and 3 days on week 2 ( mixed days). Weekdays, Monday to Thursday 13:30 - 21:30, Friday 12:30 - 20:30 and 2 Saturdays 10:30 - 18:00.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake administrative tasks relating to Transport and vehicle legal compliance amongst other administration duties.
• Ensure the operation remains legally compliant with adherence to Domestic and EU Driver’s Hour regulations.
• Maintain effective relationships with external service providers & internal vehicle maintenance units.
• Monitor customer delivery routes to ensure high levels of customer service are met.
• Effectively communicating with all Partners and raising operational issues to the Transport/Site Management Teams in a timely manner, providing handovers at the end of your shift.

Essential skills you will need

• Excellent PC Skills including Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience with Transport Compliance systems for defective vehicles and driver regulations.
• Maths and very good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Good working knowledge of IT Systems
• Previous Administration experience

Desirable Skills you can bring

• Very good organisation and planning skills with a good working knowledge of Transport Legislation
• Knowledge of Telematics systems & Route planner #LI-CS1
