Job summary

Smiths is hiring an HGV Tyre Fitter to join our busy workshop in Gloucester. You will inspect, maintain and replace tyres across our HGV fleet, ensuring safety and compliance. This is a full-time, permanent role with a competitive hourly rate up to £17, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience as an HGV, commercial vehicle or tyre fitter.
• Good understanding of tyre safety standards and maintenance requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair and replace tyres on HGVs, trailers and commercial vehicles.
• Carry out routine tyre maintenance, including pressure checks and tread depth monitoring.
• Diagnose tyre wear issues and report any defects or concerns.
• Attend roadside breakdowns and carry out emergency tyre repairs when required.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records of tyre inspections, repairs and replacements.
• Support workshop operations and assist with general vehicle maintenance tasks as required.
• Keep the workshop and work areas clean, organised and safe.
